Garlic Based Deer Repellent

Garlic is an all natural ingredient used in deer repellents that is another EPA minimum risk active ingredient. You will usually find this ingredient recommended for use on edible plants. Garlic is also used as an insect repellent and a rabbit repellent. This active ingredient washes off very easily, which is why garlic based deer repellents are the best suited repellents for food crops. This however, makes the product less effective as it must be reapplied after rain or heavy dew. Typically, gardeners will apply this product after watering their garden in the spring and summer months. Garlic is an odor repellent and would not be useful in the winter months as ice would take away the odor. We have found a clip on Garlic product that allows for a longer residual and takes away the need for constant spraying. This product is called Plant Protect garlic clips.
